Wound care is the medicine of how skin repairs itself. Aesthetic medicine is the same science, pointed at how you want to look.

Dr. Jonathan Johnson

Dr. Jonathan JohnsonMD, MBA, CWSP

Founder and Medical Director

I trained in general surgery, and I held a fellowship as the Sylvester J. Carter Fellow in Hand and Plastic Surgery at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Center of Cornell University. Long before I treated a face for the way it looked, I spent my weeks closing wounds that would not close on their own.

That work became Comprehensive Wound Care Services Corporation, which I founded and still direct. Capital Aesthetic + Laser Center came next. People are sometimes surprised by the order of those two things. I am not. Reconstruction teaches you how tissue behaves, how it heals, how pigment responds and how much a body will tolerate before it protests. Everything I do upstairs rests on that.

I am board certified by the American Board of Wound Management and by the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine, and I am certified in liposuction by the American Academy of Cosmetic Medicine and the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine. I have practiced wound care reconstruction and aesthetic procedures since 2010.

I speak professionally on wound care and aesthetic medicine education, and I have presented multiple research projects at national conferences. Teaching keeps the standard where it belongs, because you cannot stand in front of a room of physicians and defend a shortcut.

When we opened the surgical suite two doors down the hall, it was not a second business. It was the rest of the same sentence.

Michelle GermanPA-C

Physician Assistant and Aesthetic Director

I am a board certified physician assistant with ten years and a fairly intrinsic eye for beauty, and I specialize in refinements that compliment your natural features rather than replace them. Patients often arrive with a photograph of someone else. We usually end up somewhere better, which is a version of them that other people cannot quite explain.

My foundation is science. I took my bachelor of science in biology at the University of South Carolina and completed the physician assistant post graduate program at Howard University. I am always chasing the newest technique, because this is a field where health meets beauty and both halves keep moving.

I believe in the mind and body connection, and that true beauty comes from the soul. That sounds soft until you sit in my chair and I ask you what you actually want to see in the mirror, then build a plan around the answer instead of around a menu.

German Aesthetics, our medical grade skincare line, carries my name because I could not send patients home without something worth using. Results do not hold on their own. What you do between appointments is most of the outcome.

German Aesthetics Skincare

The practice's in house medical grade line, efficacious, backed by science and free from many common irritants. Sold in Suite 804 and folded into most skin health plans.

04 / The team

Over 25 years of combined experience, and one waiting room.

Nurse practitioners, registered nurses, physician assistants, estheticians and a surgical manager. Patients name them by first name in the reviews, which is the whole argument for treating aesthetics as a relationship rather than a transaction.

Krystian Jones, board certified family nurse practitioner

Krystian Jones, FNP

Family Nurse Practitioner Suites 804 and 802

A board certified family nurse practitioner and an HBCU graduate of Grambling State University, with over 10 years as a registered nurse and 4 years as a nurse practitioner across women's health and primary care. Heather Lim, registered nurse and aesthetic injector

Heather Lim, RN

Registered Nurse, Injector Body aesthetic certified

Over a decade of nursing, much of it in critical care in the cardiac intensive care unit at INOVA Fairfax Hospital. She is credited on more cases in the before and after gallery than anyone else in the practice, most of them lips, cheeks and chin.

Denise Flores, facial and body aesthetics expert

Denise Flores

Facial and Body Aesthetics Your point of contact

Over a decade managing high volume aesthetic practices. Denise is the dedicated point of contact for questions and scheduling, and the person patients thank by name at the front desk. Think of her as Dr. Johnson's right hand, making sure the experience is seamless from the first call.

Front desk, Suite 804

Carla Castro-Claure

Surgical Manager Suite 802

Post operative care specialist and certified surgical technologist. Carla runs the surgical floor and is the person most patients speak with in the weeks after a procedure, through drainage massages, compression and the long part of a result that nobody photographs.

Who we built this for

Every tone is the hero.

Lasers were once believed to be safe only for light skin types. We are trained and equipped to treat all of them, and we calibrate to your exact Fitzpatrick classification rather than to a default setting. That is the reason this practice exists in the form it does.

05 / How we work

The standards we hold to.

Not a philosophy page. These are the specific things that happen, in this order, for every patient who walks into either suite.

01

A consultation comes first

Complimentary, in person or virtual, before any plan or any deposit. We assess the concern, the skin type and the history, then say what we would and would not do.

02

Devices calibrated to your skin

Settings, pulse duration and device cooling are customized to your Fitzpatrick classification and your tolerance, with soothing and protective protocols after treatment.

03

Medical clearance before surgery

Every surgical patient brings medical clearance and recent blood work from their primary physician. Procedures are minimally invasive and often performed under local anesthesia.

04

Recovery is part of the plan

Lymphatic drainage massages, a compression garment worn consistently, and a defined return to work window. Most 360 liposuction patients are back at work within three to five days.

05

You can reach us after

The support team is available Tuesday through Saturday by phone. After a procedure, patients have text support around the clock.

06

One physician, both floors

The same medical director oversees the laser suite and the surgical suite. Nobody hands you off to a practice you have not met.
